Simon Crow, Colchester Council Portfolio Holder for Environment & Sustainability, said: “We’re pleased we can offer free parking for late Wednesdays once again this year to support local businesses, and encourage more shoppers to enjoy the festive activities and in the town centre.

“Motorists will be able to enjoy this fantastic free parking offer by registering their stay with MiPermit. We hope this offer will encourage people to embrace the festive spirit and enjoy shopping in town this Christmas.

“I encourage motorists to take advantage of the new MiPermit Discounts offer this year by visiting the stall and find out more how they could be claiming parking discounts every time they use town centre car parks.”

This year CBC will be playing Christmas music in December at St Mary’s car park to welcome visitors and get shoppers in the festive spirit. Hoping to brighten the mood of car park users, music will continue to be played throughout the year including themed music to align with annual album days, Roman River music festival and more.
