HAYDEN Mullins has confirmed that Colchester United still have more business to do in this transfer window.

The U’s have already brought in seven new signings this summer, all of whom featured in their 3-0 pre-season friendly win at Billericay Town, on Tuesday night.

Colchester fielded trialists Richard Kone and Bayli Spencer-Adams in the game at New Lodge, with the duo both hoping to earn contracts after each being given 45 minutes against the National League South side.

The U’s are still on the lookout for another forward, with former loanee Theo Robinson linked with a switch back to the club from Port Vale.

Mullins said: “We’re still looking to bring in a couple more.

“With Michael Folivi going down injured, which was a tough one for him, we could be looking in and around that area.

“Then potentially off the back of that, we might be looking at a couple of loans.

“We’re not done yet and we are still looking.”

Of Colchester’s summer signings, Frank Nouble and Cameron Coxe featured in the first half at Billericay.

Former Ipswich quartet Alan Judge, Luke Chambers, Cole Skuse and Freddie Sears then appeared, after half-time.

Judge and Sears were both on target in the second half, in the U’s victory over Kevin Watson's side.

Mullins said: “Every player that we’ve signed in the off season, we’ve sat down and spoken to them.

“From a football club and a head coach point of view, I put my points across to them and what I’m hoping to get out of this season.

“It was good to hear them and that their ambitions matched ours.”

Colchester continue their preparations for the new League Two season with a trip to play Premier League new boys Watford in a behind-closed-doors friendly, on Saturday.

Meanwhile, tickets for Colchester’s friendly against Tottenham Hotspur next week are now available on general sale.

The U’s host Spurs at the JobServe Community Stadium next Wednesday and match permits are now available to all.
