DRIVERS should expect long delays when a major road closes in Colchester.

Cowdray Avenue is shutting near its junction with Mason Road, which is the junction by The Range store, and will remain out of bounds for 33 days, from July 12.

It is while gully installation works are carried out, but a diversion will be in place during the programme of roadworks.

* Look out for a three-day road closure in Barn Hall Avenue, Colchester.

The road is shutting from its junctions with Roosevelt Way and Old Heath Road, from July 14.

It is while carriageway patching works are carried out by Essex County Council.

However, an alternative route is available via Old Heath Road, Whitehall Road, Abbots Road, Mersea Road, Normandy Avenue, Churchill Way and Barn Hall Avenue.

* Birch Park, in Birch, is shutting from its junctions with Maldon Road and Garlands Road for three days from July 12.

It is while drainage investigation works are carried out.

* A road in Ardleigh is closing for a day, while overhead cable works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

Coggeshall Road will shut on July 14.

* Look out for a road closure in Clacton.

Coopers Lane is shutting from its junctions with St Osyth Road and Rush Green Road for three days, from July 13.

It is because of carriageway patching works.

* School Road, in Little Horkesley, is shutting for three days from July 12.

* Anglian Water is carrying out work in St Andrew's Avenue, Colchester.

Drivers can use an alternative route while the work takes place on July 12.

* There is another one-day road closure planned on Mersea Island.

Upland Road, in West Mersea, is shutting from its junctions with Kingsland Road and Oyster Close on July 12.

This is also because of work being carried out by Anglian Water.

* Look out for a road closure in rural Tendring.

Wix Road, in Ramsey, is closing from its junction with Tinker Street for three days from July 12.

Duct-laying works are being carried out by Openreach.

* Yewtree Farm Road, in Inworth, and Kelvedon Road, in Messing, are both closing for a day on July 12.

It is while pole testing works are carried out by Openreach.

* Grove Road, in Tiptree, is closing from its junctions with Green Lane and Wilkin Drive.

The closure is due to come into effect on June 29 and will last three days, while gully and frame replacement works are carried out by Essex County Council.

An alternative route is available via Grove Road, Green Lane and Heycroft Way.
