POLICE dished out warnings to people caught driving antisocially at a retail park.

Following up on information from residents and businesses, Essex Police special constables conducted disruption patrols at Stane Leisure Park, Stanway.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "In the time we were present we noticed a number of vehicles driving and people acting in an antisocial manner.

"This can be intimidating and dangerous for members of our community."

As a result officers issued three community protection warnings and three Section 59 warnings.

The spokesman added: "We have identified another 22 vehicles whereby we will be taking action against those who were witnessed by our plain clothed officers driving erratically in the area at the time.

"Late last year we placed signage up warning those who gather here to act responsibly.

"At this early stage the drivers are being warned and educated around the use of their vehicle, if they ignore the warnings, they are likely to be punished.

"If they take the warnings on board, we hope they will become safer and more responsible drivers."
