SPEEDING drivers were given tickets during a police roads operation in south Colchester.
Essex Police Colchester's community policing teams conducted a month-long traffic operation on the B1025 in Blackheath and Church Road in Layer-de-la-Haye.
As part of the operation 142 speed checks were completed on vehicles.
A total of four drivers were stopped and given tickets for speeding.
Two drivers were warned to upgrade their insurance for commuting to and from work.

The average speed recorded in Church Road was 28 miles per hour with one driver caught doing 38 miles per hour.
On the B1025 the average was 28 miles per hour, with the highest recorded speed 41 miles per hour.
Officers will be back out monitoring the roads over the coming days.
