A DAD has appeared in court after a man was stabbed four times in a residential street.

The victim suffered three wounds to his back and at least once in the chest in Mandeville Road, Marks Tey.

He had been set upon by a gang of three men, one of whom was wearing skeleton mask, after he arranged to meet in an alleyway for drugs, the court heard.

The 24-year-old, of Howard Road, London, did not enter a plea when he appeared in court this afternoon.

The victim suffered a perforated bowel, punctured lung and one of the stab wounds pierced him from front to back.

The court heard he was helped by a former paramedic after the victim was found calling for help on his driveway and he opened the door.

The victim is still being cared for in hospital after the attack last Wednesday, October 31.

Philip Pearson, prosecuting, said it was not known if the victim will fully recover following the “life changing event”.

He added: “The victim is fortunately alive.”

Shade Abiodun, defending, said Adu volunteers, working with young children who have spent time in custody.

She said: “He wants to clear his name.”

The father of twin girls was remanded in custody to appear at Ipswich Crown Court next month for a plea and case management hearing.

Essex Police have confirmed two other men had been arrested following the incident.
