AFTER clinching promotion last weekend, Mersea Island secured the division four north east title with their 15th win of the season.
In a hard and closely fought match, the Islanders eventually ran out worthy winners at Canvey Island 25-20 with tries from Brendan Cook, Jordan Day, Drummond Sydenham and Mark Thomson, with Jon Williams slotting a conversion and penalty.
