Harwich needed a point from their East Hockey League match at Chelmsford to ensure they would finish as division champions and they duly triumphed 5-1.
On the Chelmsford water-base artificial surface, Harwich had difficulty controlling the bounce, but fortunately, the home side were having no greater success.
There were scoring chances at both ends, Harwich proving the more successful with goals from James Ford, Arron Bilton and Rob Southgate.
Aaron Sime in the Harwich goal saved a penalty flick, diving low to his right to ensure that Harwich finished the half with a 3-1 lead.
Harwich looked much stronger in the second half, dealing comfortably with the Chelmsford attack.
James Ford scored two further goals to complete his hat-trick and give Harwich a well-deserved victory.
Harwich are confirmed as champions of division six SE.
