COLCHESTER and Tendring Athletics Club's Joy Ogunleye was in superb form at the England Indoor National Championships, in Sheffield.
She powered to a silver medal in her under-17 women's 60 metres race in a new personal best of 7.62 seconds.
Earlier, Ogunleye had won her heat and semi-final, to the delight of coach Ian Kelly.
The winner of the event posted the third-fastest time ever.
The following day, Ogunleye competed in the under-17 women's 200m, reaching the semi-finals.
Also showing up well at the same event was promising athlete Alfie Kelway, who ran his under-15 boys' 60 metres hurdles in a new PB of 9.37s.
