Essex University Amateur Boxing Club middleweights Jamie Hercus and Vitalij Popovas both recorded resounding wins at the Sudbury Show.
Hercus, 15, was first into the ring against Braintree’s Tom Harvey for his second bout in three weeks.
Both boxers weighed in at 75 kilogrammes and it proved to be a tough three rounds for the Essex University fighter.
However, Hercus stood his ground and landed some fast left jabs and left hooks that bloodied Harvey’s nose.
Hercus maintained his pace and his work output through the final two minutes to secure a comfortable win.
Essex University’s Popovas (75kg) recorded his first-ever win in a keenly-contested bout against Ipswich boxer Jordan Smy.
