Manager Stuart Nethercott will be asking his players which Maldon Town team are turning up when they travel to highflying East Thurrock tomorrow.

His players are currently baffling the Park Drive boss who has seen them pull out all the stops last week to win at previously unbeaten division one north leaders Aveley, having the week before crashed at home to one of the low-lying struggling clubs.

Nethercott said: “Right now we are a win one, lose one club and we need to start producing results on a consistant basis.

“Only two players, centre-backs Aiden Collins and Alan Sampson, are performing with any consistancy and that’s not good enough for me.

“The lads were different class when beating Aveley last Saturday and if we had taken our chances we could have wrapped up the win by half-time.

“Some team are in for a three or four goal thumping if my team gets it right and coming off such a great win last week I will be looking for a similar display at East Thurrock, who arecurrently lying fifth from top, thrashed lowly Waltham Forest 5-0 last Saturday.

“I’ll be telling the boys – you’ve beaten the best team in the league now go out and beat the next best and the next best.”
