A late goal deprived WITHAM TOWN of a precious point at Great Wakering Rovers.
It had seemed as though bottom club Town were heading for a well-earned share of the spoils at Burroughs Park to halt a run of five league defeats.
However, Ty Benjamin netted Great Wakering’s winner with ten minutes to go to break Witham hearts, in what was likely to be Tony Last’s final game in charge following his resignation as manager last week.
Neil Richmond had given Great Wakering the lead against Ryman League division one north’s bottom club.
However, Town equalised with 16 minutes to go and looked to be heading for a morale-boosting draw – only for Benjamin to net the all-important winner.
