The KP Evans and Co Colchester and East Essex League Knock Out Cup final will be a repeat of the Great Bromley Cup final, with Harwich Rangers and Colne Engaine battling for honours.

A brace from Martyn Thomas and a single for Paul Coombs saw Harwich book their place in the final of the League Knock Out Cup with a 3-2 win against Great Bentley A.

Harwich rushed into a 2-0 lead but by midway through the second half, it was all-square after Toby Doyle had hit a brace for Bentley, however, Thomas completed his own double for Harwich to reach a second final this season.

Like in the Great Bromley Cup final, they will face Colne Engaine after they overcame Brightlingsea Regent A, but the game was taken to penalties in an exciting semi-final that had finished 2-2 after extra-time.

James and Tom Owen had struck for Colne Engaine with a goal apiece, with Keiron Baker and Tom Doherty hitting back for Regent, however, Engaine won 5-4 on penalties.

In the premier division, University thirds staked a claim for the title, hitting Colchester Athletic in a 7-0 win.

Reece Duncan led the way with four, with Greg Justham getting two and Robert Barker one and they now have to beat Wormingford for the title.

Colchester Hotspurs have found form too late, beating Kirby 1-0 with a lone John Peat goal.

Division one had Oyster beating Cinque Port 3-0, with goals from Luke Graham (2) and Alex Pacey.

Wimpole 2000 gave up the chase for a top position when they could only get a 2-2 draw with Ardleigh, who had John Baker and Gareth Blackie on target.

Steve Spires and Terry Farmer were Wimpole's goal-getters.

winning Castle ended University fourths' hope of winning the division when they drew 4-4, giving the title to Colne Engaine.
