BRAINTREE TOWN boss Lee Patterson feels his side's big clash with Blue Square South leaders Lewes tonight will act as a suitable barometer for their progress.
The Iron have resurrected their hopes of reaching the play-offs for the second successive season with two wins in a row.
However, they will certainly be put to the test by Lewes, who arrive at Cressing Road today two points clear at the top of the table.
Patterson said: "The Lewes game will be a test for me to see how far we have come, because they are a very good side.
"The results against Bromley and Bognor hurt us and if we'd have picked up at least four points from those two games, we'd be flying now.
"We've got ourselves into a good position again but there are still a lot of teams above us.
bemoaning "We don't want to take a step back now, after taking two steps forward."
