STANWAY ROVERS fired themselves into the Ridgeons League premier division's top ten with a five-star show at Lowestoft.
Rovers swept aside any hype surrounding their hosts' progression into the FA Vase semi-finals a week previously to get back in the goals with a 5-2 win.
A clinical hat-trick by Sam Newson and Ed Kirby's display in central midfield stood out for Stanway, but joint manager Rob Bate hailed his team's all-round performance.
Angelo Harrop got the scoring under way, with Newson on target for the first of his treble after the FA Vase semi-finalists had drawn level.
The Trawlermen equalised once again and Stanway keeper Michael Church denied them a third with a great save, before the visitors went down the other end and took the lead again through Mark Gaisford.
There was to be no more comebacks from the hosts, though, as Stanway kept their advantage and Newson added two more for an emphatic win.
Bate said: "It was a really good performance.
"The overall team performance was excellent as they (Lowestoft) were on a high from Vase-related stuff.
"But we got on with the job and it was a good performance."
