STANWAY ROVERS boss Angelo Harrop wants all his core first-team players to be under contract next season.
New signings Jamie Shaw, Sam Cripps and Jack Cherry recently joined skipper Pip Boyland, Ben Newson and Terry Rymer in penning contracts with the ambitious Thurlow Nunn League club.
Rovers now plan to get their other key players to sign FA year-long deals before the season starts on August 8.
“All my players – certainly all the core members of the squad - will be under contract,” said Harrop, whose side drew 2-2 at home to a BRAINTREE TOWN XI on Saturday.
“We’re looking for promotion next season and have put a lot of work in, as a management team.
“I want to take measures to keep this squad together, to give us stability.
“Otherwise. if we start well, clubs will come in for our best players and if they go, it can be really unsettling.”
Shaw was on target again in Saturday’s draw.
The striker, who recently joined from West Bergholt, also netted in last week’s victory against Maldon & Tiptree.
Jack Smith was the other scorer for Rovers.
