BRIGHLINGSEA Regent are looking good in a brand new kit.

Their Ladies’ Under-14 side won the Branded “Win a Sports Kit” competition, held in conjunction with the Colchester Gazette and its sister paper, the Echo, to celebrate the launch of their new showroom at Moorside, Colchester.

Branded provides school uniforms, sportswear and work-wear individually styled with the organisation’s logo and is a new division of Sportsafe UK.

The competition had an incredible number of responses, recording the highest number of entries a Newsquest reader competition has ever received.

Brightlingsea Regent Ladies FC U14s were announced as the winners and captain Laura Woodiwiss wasted no time in calling to arrange their visit to the Branded showroom.

The team had never had an away kit and have had to borrow a strip from the boys’ team, so they knew exactly what they were going to use the prize for.

The club gave them carte blanche on the design and colours for the away kit, a high quality pink and black Errea football kit for 15 players including goalkeeper was the order.

Dave Woodiwiss, father of Lauren, said: “The girls are over the moon with their new away strips and love playing in them.

“A huge thank you to the Gazette, Branded and Carl for such a great competition, kit and service.”
