Samuel will give U's "different dimension", says Dunne
1:02pm Thursday 3rd January 2013 in Sport By Jonathan Waldron
Boosted - U's boss Joe Dunne has made his fourth signing of the transfer window with the signature of Dominic Samuel on loan from Reading.
Joe Dunne believes new signing Dominic Samuel will give his goal-shy Colchester United side a "different dimension" in attack.
The teenager has signed for the U's on a month's loan from Premier League side Reading.
Dunne said: “Dominic’s an England under-19 international and he’ll give us a different dimension at the top.
“He’s got energy and speed and he’s a very highly thought of young player at Reading.
“Reading have a great track record of producing good young players who have done well.
“He’s already made his first-team debut for them and he’ll add a bit of freshness to the attack.
“We’re pleased with the way that we’ve been getting into the final third.
“We just need to finish it off and be a bit more resilient at the back.
“I’m a great believer in taking risks now and again.
“He’s a youngster but they have to get their chance somewhere.
“Dominic’s a player who’s got a lot of potential and he’s represented England, which isn’t easy.
“He will give us energy and enthusiasm and I’m pretty confident we’ll get him into the 18-yard box with the pace and skill in our team."

1.Bring John Joe O'Toole back from
Bristol Rovers and put him in the starting line up and keep him there. He should be here helping us.
2.Bring Jackson Ramm back from
Cambridge City (if he is not already back)and put him in the team.
3.Give Alex Gilbey a place in the starting line up.He and Drey Wright
together could be our saviours.
4.Give U's youth team striker,
Macauley Bonne,a place on the bench. He scored six
for the U's in an FA Youth Cup tie in November.
5.Sign an experienced goalkeeper -
preferably a tall one- and give Cousins a rest.
6.Borrow two more Arsenal reserves.
PS: Happy birthday to Anthony
Wordsworth,who is twenty four today.
Are the U's planning to offer him a new contract or will they allow him to leave
on a free at the end of the season?.

.
And of course, once John White is recovered from the illness that struck him last week, put him back in the starting line-up, and keep him there.
