Andy Bond has become the latest Colchester United player to show his loyalty to the club by penning a fresh deal.

Having made the step up from non-league football last summer, when he joined the club on a two-year deal from Conference side Barrow, Bond has now signed a contract extension for an extra two years.

It means the 25-year-old is now contracted to the U’s until 2014 and the news follows the announcement that defender John White had signed a new two-year contract earlier today.

Bond recently lifted the goal-of-the-season accolade at the club’s annual awards night for his wonder strike against Sheffield Wednesday at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

It was one of eight goals the energetic midfielder scored in 46 appearances for the U’s last year.
