John Ward believes Michael Rose will be a valuable addition to his Colchester United squad - both on and off the pitch.
Rose, who is comfortable either at left-back or left midfield, is on the verge of becoming the U’s first summer signing.
The 28-year-old set-piece specialist is today set to complete a move to the Weston Homes Community Stadium, after Colchester agreed a deal with Swindon Town.
U’s boss Ward said: “Michael is a player I’ve known for some time.
“He’s a good type of person to have around and he knows what is required - his personality will fit in here."
