Sanchez Watt signs for Colchester United

Gazette: GOT HIM: Former Arsenal Sanchez Watt has joined the U's on a two-year-deal GOT HIM: Former Arsenal Sanchez Watt has joined the U's on a two-year-deal

Colchester United have got their man.

Manager Joe Dunne has completed the signing of former Arsenal player Sanchez Watt on a two-year deal.

Sanchez, who had a successful loan spell with the U's last season, before injury cut short his time at the club was one of Dunne's main summer transfer targets.

Sanchez was released by Arsenal at the end of last season and Dunne was able to entice the player to the Weston Homes Community Stadium ahead of a number of other clubs that were in the hunt for his signature.

Brilliant news. Are there any other players The Arsenal want to off-load or loan to us? First class training facilities available here free of charge.

Superb news, I think this is a big two fingers up to the people that moan about the training ground, do you really think two ex arsenal players would have come to a club that was training all over the place between the garrison and uni

It's great to see so many positive comments. I think Joe and Robbie have done fantastic in getting these young players in.

Not bad for a chairman who's only in this for the money and planning applications and not bad for a manager who was the cheap option and out of his depth.........hey!!!
!!!!!! I hope those people who are quick to judge and add their usually negative comments are equally impressed and are not choking too much on their humble pie.

Anyone still think we’re certain to be relegation candidates ?

Fantastic new, welcome back to the U's Sanchez. To all those who dont believe that we have a great manager and Chairman think again. I hope that all the work that JD and RC are doing is appreciated.

Unbelievable news, I honestly had to read this heading twice! Welcome back Watt, and I can't wait to see him and Eastmond back in the fold. Well done Joe Dunne, Kinsella and Cowling, for a great transfer, which is bound to put us up there in the league for next season, and hopefully this will attract a few more players. Maybe Porter and Clifford. I agree, we do need a centre back and a left back.

Awesome day to be a U's fan all round. When we signed Jabo, Sanches and Craig in the first place we went on a run of form that shot us right up the league. This is fantastic news and if we get ourselves a really decent keeper, (hopefully Sam), then play offs could be a real shout. Coupled with a second season with a lot learned from Drey Wright and Gilbey due to make a real impact this could be the dawn of an exciting new era.
This combined with Spurs coming to town between West Ham and Ipswich this is a great day. Let's now hope this stirs a bit more local interest and we get consistently around and above the 5ooo a week mark.

United we stand says...

Well done to Joe & Robbie. A great signing for us. Reason now to be rather more optimistic and excited for next season's prospects. Like every other true fan, I am delighted with this news.
With our fan-base so small, it really is quite some accomplishment to have a squad of some quality and such remarkable facilities.
We are almost unrecognisable now in every aspect from the "Layer Road days".

This is absolutely terrific news and a huge welcome to Sanchez. These have been great signings in Jabo, Craig and Sanchez. Well done JD for all the hard work you have put in to getting these signed up. We definitely need a left back and another centre half and would love to see Porter added too. Another goal scoring striker wouldn't come amiss either.
