Morrison confident U's can avoid the drop

Clinton Morrison believes Colchester United’s spirited display against high-flying Brentford shows that they have what it takes to pull away from danger.

The U’s fell to their sixth successive defeat when they were beaten 3-1 by the Bees and are two points above the League One relegation zone, following the Boxing Day disappointment.

Colchester found themselves two goals down and down to ten men after just 14 minutes, at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

However, they battled back well and only a late Harlee Dean goal confirmed the points for third-placed Brentford.

Morrison feels Colchester should be encouraged by their courageous performance against his former club.

Morrison said: “We have to stick together and I believe with the management and the staff that we have, we can pull away from where we are."

Haha just looked at our top scorer facts.... Ibehre is our top goalscorer in the league with 4 goals, considering we have played 24 games in the league, that is a shocking fact. Shameful and pathetic. That is obviously the main factor for our downfall at the moment, so we need to invest in another forward or maybe 2. JD needs to try and get some loanees from premiership teams, and maybe someone like Cureton. Ibehre is good but seems like a forward that plays behind another. Our wingers will perform better with clever forwards, at the moment they seem to give up passing in the middle and try running in, then lose it. Clinton you also have some shocking stats, surely not scoring a lot for Col Utd has let you career stats down. We also need an attacking mid, that will threaten their defence, and try and run through them. I also feel that a strong defender to play alongside Eastman would be beneficial and a GOOD GK, or communication training lessons for Cousins. You may ask will we do this... Without funds.... Then my answer would be to sell Wordsworth, O'Toole, and Magnus as they all want to leave, plus if Col Utd do it properly then we should get quite a bit from Wordsworth (unless the other teams have seen his shocking performances this season) if we don't improve in these factors then we will get relegated. I don't blame JD at all, I blame the laziness and childish players, oh which some just look like they don't want to play and do their ACTUAL JOBS, if I under performed at work I would get sacked or dropped wages, so they should, and I'm glad to see that JD has dropped the lazy players in the recent game.

Jonathan Waldron should not be passing on comments like this, which serve only to make the player seem idiotic.
Mr Morrison should let his feet do the talking. Only problem is, they have nothing to say.
