Dejected Colchester United are vowing to get back in the saddle.
The U's six-game unbeaten run came to an end at Wolverhampton Wanderers as they were defeated 1-0 in the Coca-Cola Championship.
The killer-blow came five minutes into the second half, when Greg Halford gave away a free-kick on the edge of the area and Rohan Ricketts' set-piece was met by Jay Bothroyd at the near post.
It was a harsh end to a fantastic run that had culminated in the U's beating rivals Ipswich Town 1-0 at Layer Road in September and earned manager Geraint Williams a manager-of-the-month award.
Colchester defender Pat Baldwin could only describe it as simply disappointing'.
He said: "It was very unusual.
"The defence has done very well at standing up to set-pieces this season, so to concede the way we did was very disappointing.
"I think on the balance of play it was very equal in the amount of chances, but we didn't take them."
