England thrashed Iceland 5-0 in their under-21 European Championship qualifier tonight, in front of a sell-out crowd at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Marvin Sordell sent the Young Lions on their way with a sweet strike, six minutes before half-time.
And when Liverpool’s Martin Kelly scored an impressive solo goal for England just before the hour mark, Iceland were left with a mountain to climb.
Craig Dawson made it 3-0 with a looping header from a corner, with three minutes to go.
And substitute Gary Gardner rounded off a great night in style with a fine brace in stoppage-time, to secure England a comfortable victory in front of a crowd of 10,051.
