Colchester United reserve-team boss Richard Hall is wary of the threat high-flying Billericay Town will pose to his side tonight.
The U’s head to New Lodge for the Essex Senior Cup third-round clash to take on a Blues side who are flying high at the top of the Ryman Premier.
Craig Edwards’ side have lost only once in the league all season and have enjoyed an excellent start to the season.
Hall will take a mixture of experienced and younger players to tonight’s game and said it will be a good examination for his Colchester second-string side.
Hall said: “Billericay are doing well in their Ryman Premier and are top, so we’re obviously expecting a difficult test.
“I’m sure that they will want to take a scalp.
“But we will approach the game as we do any other and try to be as professional as possible.
“It’ll be a good experience for the boys.
“It’s a case of them getting 90 minutes under their belt and it’ll be a mixture of experience and some of the younger players.
“It’ll be a slightly different game to one that we’re used to.”
