Colchester United have been handed an away tie against League One new boys Wycombe Wanderers in the first round of this year's Carling Cup.
The game will give the two clubs an early chance in the season to renew the rivalry between them that extends back to their days in non-league football in the early 1990s.
The U's were one of the seeded teams in the southern section of the draw thanks to their top ten finish in League One last year.
That meant they could not be drawn against another seeded side from League One or the Championship in the opening phase of this year's competition.
Meanwhile, Ipswich Town will be at home against League Two side Northampton Town.
Town played the Cobblers in last year's competition on their way to making it to the semi-finals before exiting to Premier League giants Arsenal.
