John Ward is confident his goal-shy U’s side will rediscover their scoring touch.
The U’s entertain Notts County tomorrow, having lost only one of their opening 12 games in npower League One.
However, Colchester have drawn eight of those matches and have hit the net just once in their last four fixtures.
No team has scored fewer goals than Colchester in the top half of League One.
But although he conceded things need to change, U’s manager Ward is confident his players can find the net more regularly.
Ward said: “As I’ve said before, we’ve been creating a lot of chances but have not been able to finish some of them.
“It’s a concern if it continues.
“I’m a little bit in limbo about it at the moment, because we’re not losing but we’re not winning enough.
“It’s a real bugbear for us.
“It’s something that we’re working on and the stats we look at are important but we’ve known it all along."
