Colchester United will take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the second round of the Carling Cup, after the draw was made tonight.
The U's reward for their 3-0 win at Hereford United last night in the first round is a trip to play the Premier League club, managed by Steve Bruce.
The last time Colchester played at the Stadium of Light was in November 2006, when the Black Cats registered a 3-1 victory in the Championship.
The tie will be played week commencing August 23.
