A brace from loanee David Mooney helped Colchester United book their place in the second round of the Carling Cup tonight.
Mooney, on loan from Reading, netted twice in the first half in the U's 3-0 first-round win at Hereford United.
Ian Henderson added a third goal for Colchester in the second half at Edgar Street but there was a downside to their victory, after Mooney was stretchered off with what appeared to be a nasty leg injury with 18 minutes remaining.
