Gavin Williams today revealed his delight at ending his injury nightmare and getting back in action for Ipswich Town.
The Welsh international played a half of Saturday's friendly at Boston United, which ended 1-1.
It was his first taste of action since limping off with a knee injury in Town's 2-1 victory at Norwich City in February.
He then had to have a cartilage operation and has been out ever since.
Although he suffered some soreness and will miss tomorrow's friendly against Galway, Williams told the Evening Gazette: "It was so good to be involved again and, apart from a little discomfort, I feel fit and fresh.
