Ben Williams insists he has no intention of quitting Colchester United.
The U’s goalkeeper regards loyalty as an important virtue and says he would only leave if a ‘ridiculous’ bid came in.
Williams enjoyed a superb first season with the U’s, scooping the club’s player of the year accolade along with other awards.
The 27-year-old shot-stopper’s fine performances for Colchester have naturally attracted admiring glances from rival clubs.
However, Williams has stressed he wants to at least see out his current contract, which expires in 2012.
And the former Manchester United trainee is desperate to help the U’s enjoy a successful campaign under new boss John Ward.
Williams told the Gazette: “I’m totally committed to being at Colchester."
