Colchester United have confirmed that boss Aidy Boothroyd has been given permission to speak to Coventry City about filling their vacant manager's position.
The U's have issued a statement following speculation from the West Midlands that Boothroyd had been at the Ricoh Arena for talks on Wednesday.
Colchester chairman Robbie Cowling said an approach had been made by the Sky Blues and permission had been granted.
He added that the two clubs have also agreed a compensation figure if talks between Coventry and Boothroyd are successful.
