Maldon Town to become Maldon and Tiptree Football Club

First published in Sport by

Maldon Town are set to be rebranded and become Maldon and Tiptree Football Club.

Tiptree United have decided not to field a competitive side next season and are withdrawing from the Essex Senior League.

But in order to help preserve their name and history, they are being incorporated into the name of Maldon Town.

The team will play in a new blue and red strip. It is not a merger – although that could happen at a later date – and Tiptree are maintaining their status as a senior club, having been granted permission by the Football Association.

This whole thing has been a charade from start to finish and I don't know why the FA have turned a blind eye to the goings on? A club steeped in history is to be wiped off the face of the football map due to the greed of two businessmen. Tiptree United R.I.P

It's a shame they both should stay as individual teams - as usual money before anything else.
As soon as tiptree left chapel road the writing was on the wall - i feel sorry for tiptree's management.
Will the job be advertised as colins' will still be around.
I agree with you totally football
