Colchester United manager Aidy Boothroyd praised new signing David Prutton after he marked his debut with a superb goal.

Prutton, who has signed for the U’s on a month’s loan from Leeds United, scored with a fine 25-yard effort after coming on as a second-half substitute in his side's 2-0 win over MK Dons last night.

Colchester are hoping to make the move permanent by the end of the week and Boothroyd (pictured) was delighted to see his new signing make such an immediate impact.

Boothroyd said: “I don’t think he’ll get too many of those!"
