Colchester United saw off promotion rivals MK Dons 2-0 tonight at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Kevin Lisbie fired them in front in the 18th minute, after Dons keeper Willy Gueret failed to deal with Marc Tierney's long throw.
Lisbie missed a golden opportunity to extend the U's lead in the opening minutes of the second half when Gueret saved his penalty.
The spot-kick was awarded after Lisbie had been fouled by Dons substitute Jude Stirling, who was sent off for the offence.
However, on-loan midfielder David Prutton wrapped up Colchester's win midway through the second half with a wonderful long-range effort.
