Colchester United have appealed to supporters to help them clear the Weston Homes Community Stadium pitch of snow.

The U's are facing a race against time to get the pitch ready for their much-anticipated clash with Norwich City on Saturday, following the recent cold snap.

Head groundsman David Blacknall and his assistant Steve Parker have been working hard to ensure the pitch is ready for the mouth-watering Coca-Cola League One game.

However, the U's said it would be helpful if people were to help them, in the coming days.

Supporters are asked to report to reception - it would be helpful for them to bring equipment such as shovels and wheelbarrows, where possible.
