Roy Keane settled for a hard-earned point after his Ipswich Town side drew 1-1 at Plymouth.

The Blues are still bottom of the Championship and without a win in 14 games.

But Keane said: “When you're away from home and go a goal down you have to be fairly content with a draw.

“We had the better of the chances but you have to give credit to their defenders.

“I could have a go at my players for not hitting the target more but Plymouth defended unbelievably well. It's important to recognise that.”

Things got off to a bad start midway through the first half when Plymouth's Jamie Mackie teed up Carl Fletcher.

The midfielder was lurking just outside the box and smashed a low effort into the bottom right-hand corner.

Town stuck to their guns and equalised after 68 minutes.

Their goal was hugely fortunate in that it stemmed from a dreadful back-pass by Gary Sawyer.

Jon Stead latched on to it and coolly rounded goalkeeper Romain Larrieu before slotting into the Plymouth net.

Alan Quinn had a glorious chance just afterwards but saw his effort blocked by a defender.
