Ipswich Town boss Jim Magilton will be coming face-to-face with not only a former team-mate, but a potential transfer target as well when his side face Charlton Athletic at Portman Road this evening.
The Addicks have former Blue Darren Ambrose in their ranks and Magilton is quite open in his admiration for the player and didn’t rule out a January move for him.
Ambrose is out of contract in the summer and made it clear a few weeks ago that a move back to Town could be welcome.
Magilton told the Gazette: “He is probably on a list of players we would like.
“He is a very good player who probably left here too soon and we were robbed of seeing a few more years of him here.
“I always thought he was going to be a top player but things have not quite panned out for him.
“When he lands on the ball you think things are going to happen - he is a match-winner.”
