COLCHESTER United manager Paul Lambert was a happy man after seeing his side trounce Carlisle United.
The U’s ran out 5-0 winners over the Cumbrians to continue Lambert’s impressive start as boss and register their first win at the Weston Homes Community Stadium – halting four successive home defeats in the process.
He told the Gazette: “The lads have been terrific in the two weeks or so that I’ve been here.
“With a bit of luck, we’d have taken nine points out of last three games.
“The players have the ability, there’s no doubt about it.
“But they’re also giving everything which is a terrific thing for any manager to get from his players.
“They are a credit to the football club at this minute.”
