COLCHESTER United moved out of the League Two relegation zone on goal difference after drawing 1-1 with play-off chasing Walsall, on Saturday afternoon.

U's fans have their say on their team's draw at the JobServe Community Stadium, as Danny Cowley's side battled back to claim a point.

Less wins this calendar year than Sutton now and still without a home since the turn of the year. Fearing a heavy defeat next week, so any result at Mansfield will be a huge bonus.

James Goddard

Solid enough performance and not a lot between the two teams. If anything I think we edged it over the 90 minutes. With a bit more luck in front of goal and if everybody pulls together as one for the club we will be fine. Up the u’s !

Shane Almond

I feel like the pen miss might come to bite us come the end of the season. I don't know what to honestly say... the thought of relegation is a foreboding thought and one that looks more and more possible by the day... still we fight til the end! Up The U's

Glennyboy

Not much in it. Need to close down the shot for their goal. Feel for Noah. You don't miss penalties on purpose. Head up son, go again and make amends.

Is John Ward back? #draw

Fair result overall. Matched a good team in the first 2 thirds but we’re still lacking up front, though Brad showed his potential in bursts. Still need to be more progressive with the 2nd pass, but keep playing with that attitude and determination and we’ll be ok. Huge test next week

Chris

Mingi had a fantastic game

Paul Chilver

Poor first half but improved in second. Lack of cutting edge continues be an issue.

Would have taken a point at halftime, but that penalty miss feels like a punch in the gut. Mingi looked very solid at Centre-Back and was personally impressed by Owura Edwards from the bench. Ihionvien should be starting every week, offered twice as much as Akinde. 10 finals left

Si Collinson

Take a point after going a goal down. But still not good enough. We should have won that with our second half performance. Need to start winning asap.

Danny

I thought we played quite well against a good side. Mingi was MOTM in my opinion but was due a good game tbf. Plenty of spirit and fight in evidence. I still think we’ll be ok but need to get a winning attitude asap. Akinde was the negative imo.

A somewhat better performance. We got really lucky that Walsall were poor in front of goal. We had some decent chances too and was a big shame not converting the penalty as it could of gave us the momentum we needed. More composure is needed in the final third, too much rushing.

BigBods1

Good first ten minutes and good for most of the second half, sat back a bit too much at 1-1, but we would have lost this game pre-Cowleys. Mingi had his best game for us in an unfamiliar position. Brad was also excellent, pleased to hear Danny Cowley praise him post game

Anthony Clachan

There's no winning mentality at this club today was a opportunity and we didn't take it yeah it may be a point but it's not a win so not happy tbh

Chilvers!!! His arrogance outweighs his ability

James

It's definitely a fair result. We should've gone 2-1 up but Walsall looked like scoring for a lot of the second half. Gotta get behind the team for the remaining cup finals of the season.

Mathew Parks

A poor start to the game, but managed to come out strong in the second half. McGeehan, Fevrier, and Mingi delivered great performances. Unlucky missing a penalty that should have been buried. Credit goes to Jackson Smith for making some excellent saves.

Michael O'Brien

Desperate times. A bit better from our disinterested, overpaid journeymen. Chilvers shouldn’t be on the pitch when we need spite and guile. Sutton result helpful, but the Chuckle brothers become increasingly out of their depth in a relegation dog fight.
