Prested Hall is celebrating another title following their National League Final success in France.

While Wimbledon champion Roger Federer and French Open champion Rafael Nadal were grabbing all the headlines in the annual Roland Garros championships in Paris, Prested hall trio Adrian Kemp, Claire Vigrass and Peter Holmes were also in the city collecting silverware.

After finishing second in their league, Kemp, Vigrass and Holmes took on the might of league winners Paris to decide the destination of the national title.

Prested Hall professional Kemp featured in the first string match and got the better of his opponent in an extremely tight contest, winning 6-5, 6-5.

Holmes equipped himself admirably against a higher-ranked player in the next match and almost managed to sneak a victory.

However, he was eventually edged out 6-4, 6-5.

So it was all left to reigning USA Open Ladies champion Vigrass in the final and deciding match if Prested Hall were going to return home triumphant.

And the Inworth teenager picked up her game magnificently to clinch the last two nail-biting sets after starting slowly and dropping the opening set.

Vigrass started slowly and heavily lost the first set 6-1, before hitting back to take the final two sets 6-3, 6-4 to win her team the National League division four championship.

"It was briliant," said a jubilant Vigrass. "Playing last and having to win placed a lot of pressure on me.

"But I cope better when the pressure is on and I was the best one to cope under the pressure of having to win to take the title."

Vigrass is now launching into her new and intense training regime for the summer ready for her new season that kicks-off with the British Junior Open Championship in August.

Vigrass said: "I have entered it every year since I was 12 years-old and have won the girls title at every age group up to now.

"Two years ago I was the first girl to break into the main competition (boys and girls) and now this year is my one and only chance left to have a crack at winning the title."
