MERSEA Island's Hannah Stodel continued her complete domination of the Sonar Class at the Semaine Olympique Francaise regatta in Hyéres in France.

After strong winds had interupted the second day's racing, Stodel, together with skipper John Robertson and Stephen Thomas, secured two more first place finishes as they stayed at the top of the field and underlined their potential to take medals at the Paralympic Games in China in September.

However, there wasn't such unbridled success for fellow Mersea sailor Saskia Clark as she continued to have a frustrating time in the women's 470 Class.

With skipper Christina Bassadone, Clark managed to secure a second place in the sixth race of the series, but other finishes outside the top ten have restricted the British Olympics hopefuls' chances of making a bigger impact on the top end of the leaderboard.

They headed into today's racing sitting in eighth place overall.
