Colchester United look set to turn to the emergency loan market again in a bid to ease their injury crisis.

A knee injury suffered by captain Karl Duguid has ruled him out of the U's East Anglian derby against Norwich City on Saturday.

The last player Colchester signed on loan - Izale McLeod - returned to Charlton Athletic a few days into his move after suffering a serious knee injury against Plymouth Argyle.

The U's have until the end of next week to make emergency loan moves.

Manager Geraint Williams said: "We're actively looking for a loan player before Saturday."

"We have a few players doing light running but they're not match fit yet.

"It's all hands to the pump and we will see who is available for Saturday."
