IPSWICH Witches' Craven Shield clash against local rivals Lakeside Hammers at Foxhall Stadium tomorrow will now start at 2.15pm.

This will give the riders and supporters wishing to travel just a little extra time to make their way to the Arena-Essex raceway later in the day when the two teams meet again in the same competition at 8pm.

The meeting throws up some interesting confrontations, including the Andreas Jonsson versus Jarek Hampel head-to-head battle.

Ipswich team manager Peter Simmons said: "I'm really looking forward to the meetings. We go into them looking to secure all the points on offer and with a good win at Foxhall in the afternoon, I'm sure we can upset the bookies' favourites for the title in the evening return fixture.

"In Chris Louis, we have a rider who must surely rate both Foxhall and Arena as two of his favourite tracks.

"Jon Cook and myself will re-live the rivalry we encountered 20 years ago at the Hackney training school when we were both trying to break into speedway as juniors in the mid-eighties."

Witches: Robert Miskowiak, Piotr Swiderski, Chris Louis (capt), Steve Johnston, Jarek Hampel, Chris Schramm, Tobi Kroner.
