HOME advantage paid off as Five Lakes Golf Club's ladies beat Benton Hall 3-2 in the second round of the Mail on Sunday competition.
RESULTS: Julie Dicks beat Wendy Kirkby one-up, Mary Guthrie lost to Wendy Jarvis two down, Jo Walton beat Sue Hanlon five and four, Pat Kettle beat Marian Drage four and two and lady captain Carole Lewis lost to Pru Carter four and two.
Five Lakes ladies played a Texas Scramble, which was won by Janet Goody, Penny Bourner and Margaret Weir with a nett 74.6, while second place went to Julie Dent, Barbara Holmes and Marian Bermingham with a nett 77.1 RESULTS: Veterans' Pink Ball competition: 1 John Grant, Tony Choat and Alf Hill 113 points, 2 John Saunders, Bryan Thompson and Ken Ellingham 112 pts, 3 Derek Sainty, John Knight and Barrie Aitchison 107 pts.
