COLCHESTER UNITED have lodged an appeal against Phil Ifil's controversial red card against Hull City.
The defender was given his marching orders for violent conduct in the 14th minute of the U's 3-1 defeat at Layer Road.
Ifil is facing a three-match ban following his dismissal, which would mean him missing Colchester's forthcoming Coca-Cola Championship games against Norwich City, West Bromwich Albion and Ipswich Town.
Meanwhile, Cardiff's appeal against Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's dismissal against the U's last weekend has been rejected by the Football Association of Wales.
