COLCHESTER HARRIERS supplied both runners-up in the Brentwood Half-Marathon.
With a £500 first prize in both races the standard was high with more than 3,000 runners in the event.
Adrian Mussett showed that he is still in good form with a fine time of 1h 7m 30s to push the winner the whole way and leave a trail of up-and-coming pretenders behind him.
Only an exceptional performance from an overseas runner stopped Mussett taking the crown on the day, but the Colchester man was pleased with second spot leading into the Hastings Half-Marathon next week and then a shot at the London Marathon.
Harriers new-signing, Sarah Stradling, showed her class with an exceptional run of 1h 19m 59s to finish runner-up to international runner Sue Partridge.
