Colchester United will head into Christmas bottom of the Coca-Cola Championship table after losing 2-1 at fellow strugglers Queens Park Rangers.

A brace from Hungarian Amos Buzsaky put Rangers in command at Loftus Road.

And although Mark Yeates capped Colchester's much-improved second-half display with a goal, it was not enough to rescue a crucial point for Geraint Williams' side.

"For 45 minutes we got what we deserved," said the Colchester boss.

"We were a different side in the second half and played the way we should have in the first half and were the better side.

"We passed it well and that's how we know to play football - I'm at a loss as to why we didn't do that in the first half.

"The players deserved something for their second-half performance."
