Striker Lee Underwood has joined Wivenhoe Town ahead of their Ryman League division one north clash against Waltham Abbey.

The young hitman has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at Broad Lane after joining from Ridgeons League premier division side Harwich and Parkeston for a four-figure sum.

Underwood has impressed at the Shrimpers over the last two seasons since moving up from the Essex and Suffolk Border League.

He will resume the productive partnership he had with Rob Thorne while the pair were at the Royal Oak and Dragons boss Richard Carter is pleased with his new addition.

"Lee is a natural goalscorer and has proved that since stepping up from the Border League two seasons ago," he said. "I am looking forward to seeing him strike up a partnership with Darren Bethell and Robbie Thorne."
