Record signing Clive Platt believes Colchester United are on the right track for success.

The U's have experienced a mixed start to the Coca-Cola Championship season, having won two but lost three of their opening ten matches.

Colchester were beaten 2-1 at Stoke City last weekend and head into the international break placed 17th in the table.

However, Platt believes their league position does not reflect how competently they have performed so far this season.

He said: "We've played so well in a lot of games but our points don't reflect that.

"But if we carry on playing like we have been and eradicate the mistakes we'll be fine.

"I don't think we need to change too much, just a few little changes will do."
